Executive Director’s Statement.

Learning through play is the central philosophy at BeAbove, empowering children to discover the world through their own lens. As an early childhood education center, we prioritize collaboration between parents, educators, and the children, for a well-rounded learning experience that puts the child first.

As a certified Child Care Consortium, BeAbove is an essential early childhood education center for Early Head Start (EHS), Head Start (HS), and Early Learn – Department of Education (DOE) participants. BeAbove’s learning centers for kids are in alignment with the mission to provide children with equality in education from day one, leveling the playing field for kids from all backgrounds.

Encouraging children to explore a variety of stimuli and take a leading role in their learning experience offers them the chance for a deep and lasting knowledge base. Instead of repeating facts and phrases, BeAbove supports independence and builds confidence, which empowers children to be themselves as they grow and develop.

Since its humble beginnings more than 20 years ago, BeAbove has seen exponential growth, touching the lives of children across New York City. Initially serving just 60 children, this organization now reaches over 1000 children each year throughout the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Westchester County offering a safe and healthy learning environments that encourage hands-on interaction (i.e. learning through play).

Offering childcare in New York, alongside learning opportunities helps parents and guardians provide for their families, while building a strong social emotional and educational foundation for the children and families BeAbove serves. By screening every child for disabilities, behavioral concerns, and mental health problems, BeAbove focuses on providing the proper care and resources in the least restrictive environment.

BeAbove facilitates Family Services as an essential focus of childcare practices provided by the agency. Family Services is one of the four (4) content areas. The content areas are pillars in the agency’s structure (Education, Family Services, Mental Health, and Disabilities). Family services focuses on parent’s goal, wrap around services, enhancing parenting skills, offering guidance, and providing support as needed. Expectant mothers are provided with support, information about nutrition and lifestyle changes during pregnancy, giving them and their unborn child a “head start” in this world.

The team comprises dedicated and hardworking childcare professionals with the central mission of educating kids from their earliest days. Expose your children to educational stimuli at an early childhood education center and help them thrive.
